I still remember the email that started all of this — Brent found a boutique little resort on Dhigurah Island in the Maldives and sent it my way with basically one line: “You need to see this.” He was right.
That resort is Boutique Beach Dhigurah, tucked right on South Ari Atoll — hands-down one of the best places in the world to dive with whale sharks. Unlike a lot of whale shark destinations where sightings are seasonal and a little bit of a gamble, South Ari has resident whale sharks year-round. We’re also planning around manta ray season, plus reef sharks, sea turtles, eagle rays, and a fully intact wreck dive for anyone who wants something a little different. Water temps sit in the high 70s to low 80s and visibility runs 50-130 feet, so if you’ve been diving with us in cooler water, this trip is going to feel like a reward. ❤️
Reef Seekers Travel is heading to the Maldives October 3–9, 2027 — 6 nights at Boutique Beach Dhigurah — and we still have 5 spots open.
Here’s what’s included:

- Speedboat transfer from Malé to Dhigurah Island

Not included: flights to Malé, additional meals/excursions/extra dives, trip insurance, and gratuities. Proof of DAN (or equivalent) dive insurance is required, and we’ve got a payment plan available so you’re not paying it all at once — full balance isn’t due until August 2027.
This is one of those trips where I keep pulling up the resort photos when I should be doing something else. Five of our divers are already locked in, and I’d love for the other five spots to be filled by people who’ve been diving with us for a while, or by someone who’s never traveled with Reef Seekers before and wants their first trip to be a big one. Either way — this is the kind of week that turns into the trip everyone talks about for years.
